"Too Late for Love"
Romano unwittingly supplies information to fur thieves
when he falls for a pretty model who's working for the gang.
Earl Banks and Doug Nelson, along with their accomplice Amy Robbins, rob Santini Furs during their first private showing. In the commotion, Santini is shot and they use Amy as a shield. Hooker and Romano, hearing shots, pursue the suspects, but are distracted when Amy is shoved out of the van. Romano, who once dated Amy, becomes involved with her again during the investigation of the robbery. At the precinct, they receive a tip about where the getaway van is hidden. When they arrive at the warehouse to investigate, several rounds of gunfire are exchanged and Nelson is killed. Romano has become more infatuated with Amy and discusses the robbery case with her. She, meanwhile, uses this information to set up the next robbery. While going through old records, Stacy discovers Harry Cort of Cort Furs had posted bail for Nelson several times and there was suspicion that Cort used to steal his own furs for insurance money. When Hooker and Romano visit Santini's wife at the store, she recalls that Cort referred model Amy Robbins to her. Hooker learns that there will be a large fur showing at Towne Furriers and that one of the models will be Amy. Hooker and Romano arrive just as the robbery is going down. They manage to apprehend Banks, but Cort jumps Romano and urges Amy to grab his gun. She can't and surrenders to Romano. Cort is finally taken into custody.
