"The Bribe"
Hooker's charged with bribery and corruption, then leaves for Las Vegas to meet with the prostitute accused of paying him off.
Hooker
and his team serve as backup for a big drug bust and arrest one man
and professional playgirl April DeMarco, however the main dealer escapes.
Back at the police station, Lt. Merrit shows Hooker and Romano a piece
of evidence they confiscated at April's apartment. April had incriminating
video tapes which made it look as if Hooker was taking bribes to keep
prostitutes out of jail. Merrit makes it clear it won't be easy for
Hooker as they have found thousands of dollars in Hooker's bank account.
Hooker is stripped of his badge and gun so he informs Romano that he
is off to Las Vegas with April to clear his name and get to the bottom
of the drug trafficking. He thinks a man named Castle is working from
mob headquarters in Las Vegas and may be setting up a drug shipment
to California. When he and April arrive in Vegas, Hooker sends him a
kilo of heroin. Castle takes the bait, but wants Hooker to prove himself
by supplying another 9 kilos of heroin. With the help of the FBI, the
heroin arrives, and Hooker gets Castle to incriminate himself. Realizing
he's been had, a fight ensues, with Hooker and April getting wounded.
Corrigan and Romano arrive on the scene and take Castle down, leaving
Hooker with a commendation.
