Hooker, Corrigan and Sheridan travel to Hawaii on special assignment to protect the life of a U.S. Senator and his family who are threatened by terrorists.

SYNOPSIS:

While Hooker is on official business at the federal court building, he runs into an old college football buddy, Senator Grayle. While the two exchange pleasantries, a bomb explodes. It is believed that the bomb was meant to kill the senator who is currently lobbying for a bill designed to eliminate terrorist activities. His chance meeting with Hooker saved his life. The senator's next stop is Hawaii and he requests that Hooker and his team travel with him and his wife, Barbara as personal bodyguards. Hooker reluctantly accepts the offer, while Officers Corrigan and Sheridan eagerly pack for their forthcoming trip. While they cover their first assignment at a hotel press conference, another unsuccessful assassination attempt is made on the senator's life. Hooker chases after the terrorist and loses him, however a young Hawaiian rookie cop, Howie Kalanuma sees his face. Eager and energetic, Howie investigates and identifies the assassin as Makio who is working for an underground Japanese Mafia ring. He contacts Hooker to meet him at a local bar where the group operates from. However before Hooker arrives, Makio discovers Howie and stabs him to death. Angered over Howie's unnecessary death, Hooker vows to catch the senator's killer. While Hooker and his team protect Sen. Grayle and continue Howie Kalanuma's murder investigation, it becomes apparent that the senator's marriage is under great strain, due to his political greed and philandering. Hooker confronts his friend and his tactics, expressing his concern over the senator's marriage. Hooker then returns to the bar where Howie identified makio and discovers a matchbook with the name Bishamon on it. Hooker learns that Bishaomn is the name of a boat where the head of the Japanese Mafia, Yakuza, resides. After an angry confrontation, Hooker returns to the senator's hotel to find Barbara Grayle and Stacy kidnapped by the Yakuza. Hooker and Sen. Grayle meet the kidnappers to save the two women, while the police trail behind and arrest the Yakuza group. After uncovering various bits of information, Hooker learns that Barbara hired the Yakuza to kill her husband and make it look like terrorists were trying to stop his bill from reaching Congress. Shocked, yet relieved, Sen. Grayle thanks Hooker for all his help and asks him to continue to be his personal bodyguard. Hooker declines the Senator's offer and returns with his team back to the mainland.
